Lim Chong Jin

A Singaporean, born and bred, Lim Chong Jin received his design education in Canada. Jin is a veteran in both private and public sectors, having collectively amassed 4 decades of experience in design communication, education, change management, leadership, and creativity training.

As the former director at the School of Design Temasek Polytechnic (TP), Jin dwelled in the possibilities of collaborative energy and sagacity. In a familiar space surrounded by an immensity of talents, Jin is reminded of his formative years in advertising where he held both creative and executive tenures, spearheading award-winning works across a roster of brands.

At the intersection of practice and academia, the fluidity in creativity allows Jin to transit, reside, fuse, and collide into a dialectical world of what it is and what it can be. Besides his previous responsibilities in running the multiple award-winning school, Jin provided the creative impetus as the Head of the BeyonDesign Centre.

Attesting to the strong academic rigor and the deep pool of creative talent, Jin’s proudest moment is the claim that TP is the only design institution that has engendered 5 graduates who are recipients of President’s Design Award’s Designer of the Year, the highest design accolade in the design industry. Adding another feather to the cap, the school was crowned the “Design Institution of the Year 2023” again, for the seven consecutive years since 2017.
